Food Tours in Krakow: Street Food, Tipsy Tasting or a Full Dinner?
Updated October 13, 2026 · 5 min read
For most adults the Tipsy Polish Food Tour with History, Pierogi and Shots, €35.91 per person, 2.5 to 3 hours, is the best balance. Of the four tours below it has the most reviews and the lowest price, with over six tastings. If you want a lighter outing or have dietary limits, read the section on restrictions before booking; that is where the listings state their exclusions.
Same label, very different dinners
The word “food tour” covers three things in Krakow, and the listings do not make the difference obvious.
- A snack walk: a few street foods and a drink, 1.5 to 2 hours. You will want dinner afterwards.
- A tasting with drinks: six or more small bites with shots in between, 2.5 to 3 hours. Whether it replaces dinner depends on your appetite.
- A sit-down meal on foot: two or more restaurants, courses and several vodkas. This is dinner.
The options compared
| Tour | Length | What you eat and drink | Limits | From |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Street Food Walking Tour | 1.5 hours (Old Town) or 2 hours (Kazimierz) | Obwarzanek, zapiekanka, pierogi, sausage, pickles, a market stop, vodka; the 2-hour route adds bigos, smalec and maczanka | Group of 15 at most | €39.00 |
| Tipsy Polish Food Tour | 2.5–3 hours | More than six tastings (pierogi, zapiekanka, bigos), a cherry liqueur and 2–3 shots | English only; not suitable for under 18s | €35.91 |
| Guided Polish Food and Culture Tour | 3 hours | At least four restaurants in Kazimierz, 11 to 13 dishes, two vodkas and a craft beer | 2 to 12 people; English | €93.00 |
| 6-Course Full Polish Food Tour with Vodka Tasting | 2.5 hours, evening | Two restaurants, six courses, four vodkas | English | €82.08 |
Who each one suits
The Tipsy Polish Food Tour is the one for a group of adults who want a loud, social evening. The listing says it is not a pub crawl but a food experience “with just the right amount of tipsy”, and it warns that guests who arrive highly intoxicated may not be able to take part or continue. It is not suitable for anyone under 18.
The Street Food Walking Tour is the lighter and more flexible option. You choose between the 1.5-hour Old Town route and the 2-hour Kazimierz route, and the listing offers guides in Spanish, Italian, English, French, German and Russian, although each group tour runs in one language, chosen at booking. The group is capped at 15. The 2-hour route starts at the Hala Targowa market.
The Guided Polish Food and Culture Tour is a proper meal and the most expensive for the time. It meets at the Three Musicians fountain in Kazimierz and needs at least two people to run. The listing gives food map and cook book as part of the package.
The 6-Course Full Polish Food Tour is an evening dinner with a guide. It meets in front of St Mary’s Basilica, where the guide holds a blue umbrella.
Restrictions to check first
Dietary needs. The Street Food Walking Tour says it is not recommended for vegans, and that the 2-hour option does not suit vegetarians; vegetarians can join the 1.5-hour tour. It also advises against it for people with allergies or intolerances to gluten, wheat, dairy, eggs, meat, sesame or nuts, because many products may contain them. The Guided Polish Food and Culture Tour is listed as not suitable for vegans or for people with lactose or gluten intolerance. The Tipsy tour and the 6-course tour do not state any dietary restrictions, so contact the operator before booking if you need a particular diet.
Alcohol is in all four. Each listing includes vodka or other spirits, so none is a good fit for anyone who does not drink. If you do not drink, ask the operator whether a non-alcoholic substitute is possible before booking.
Children. The Tipsy tour is listed as not suitable for under 18s. The Guided Polish Food and Culture Tour is listed as not suitable for children under 6 in one place and for children aged 7 and under in another, so check the booking page for the exact limit. The Street Food Walking Tour does not state a minimum age.
Wheelchairs. The Street Food Walking Tour lists wheelchair users as not suitable. The Tipsy tour lists itself as wheelchair accessible.
Be on time. The Street Food Walking Tour asks you to arrive 10 minutes early and says latecomers cannot join once the group has gone, with no refund. The meeting point depends on the option you pick, and the same holds for the Tipsy tour.
Which to choose
- A big, social sample of Polish food: the Tipsy tour.
- A lighter walk, or a market and Kazimierz: the Street Food Walking Tour, 2-hour route.
- A real meal, small group: the Guided Polish Food and Culture Tour.
- Dinner with courses: the 6-course tour.
Food also comes with some of the day trips. Several Zakopane tours bundle a cheese and vodka tasting; see the Zakopane tour guide. For other food and drink walks, see the food and vodka tours of Krakow page.
